READING

When I was a child, the library was my favorite place. My parents always knew they could find me two doors down the street, at the Public Library, camped out under a table with a big pile of books. I still like to read and find time for it whenever I can. Take a look at what I've been reading lately (plus a few all-time favorites).

MUSIC

Music has been an important part of my life since I was about 10 years old and played dj with all my father's records. I started playing guitar when I was big enough to hold one. I'm still hoping I'll eventually get the hang of it. Currently, I play with the band Misslink (take a look at the band's site). They're really nice guys and put up with me pretty well.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

In 1993, I got the urge to start riding a bike again, on dirt paths in the woods, just like I used to do as a little kid. Only now it had a name: Mountain Biking. And it's a great way to keep in shape, meditate and commune with nature. Read more about my thoughts on mountain biking.

FILM

Perhaps connected to my interest in architecture and design, I am also a bit of a film buff. In particular, I enjoy movies which are beautifully filmed, and tend to pay more attention to directors than actors. Take a look at some of my favorites here.

CARS

When I was 2 years old, my parents moved from Palo Alto to New Jersey in a VW bug. I spent most of the trip sleeping over the engine. I think this must have left a mark on me. In my teens and early twenties, I drove...a bit spiritedly. Now I'm just as happy to take public transportation. In fact, I don't even own a car. But not too long ago, I had a cute little Alfa Romeo I named "la Strega" (the witch). And she was bewitching. Being technically inclined, it was also fun doing my own troubleshooting and repairs. Anything that didn't require a full shop, I fixed myself.
